The Twenty-First Amendment

SECTION 1
The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is
hereby repealed.
SECTION 2
The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or possession of the
United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the
laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.
SECTION 3
This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment
to the Constitution by conventions in the several States, as provided in the
Constitution, within seven years from the date of the submission hereof to the
States by the Congress.
The Twenty-First Amendment repealed the Eighteenth Amendment and the Prohibition. It reinstated the
manufacturing and distribution of alcohol in the United States. This is the only amendment that repeals a
previous amendment and was ratified by a state ratifying convention. As the sale of alcohol is still legal,
this Amendment is still valid today.

This illustration represents the ratification of the twenty first amendment and the repealing of the eighteenth amendment. As seen
in the picture the public is rejoicing upon the reintroduction of legal alcohol by Congress representing its positive impact on
American society.

This article explains the amendment and its necessity to America in depth. Due to an increase of illegal activity concerning the
bootlegging of alcohol, the article expresses its importance of bringing American society back to normal despite having to end
the prohibition.
