The First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. I believe that this amendment carries out the right to be able to choose your own religion based solely on your own beliefs and values, without the constriction of the government. I also believe it enables to the right and freedom for one to make a complaint to the government, federal and state, without the fear of any repercussion or punishment. Lastly, this amendment allows the freedom of speech. It allows citizens to be able to speak freely about their views, beliefs, and values. Although, there are certain limitations on this amendment, they are reasonable to avoid the government of danger.  <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Zeeq0qaEaLw"...

Let's Start With The Beginning

We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.  I believe that the Preamble’s significance is often overlooked and generally all eyes go straight to the Constitution, without recognizing the equal importance of the Preamble. This concept, brought forth by our forefathers, was not anticipated to be a law, but to serve as a bridge to the Declaration of Independence. To me, this remarkable paragraph shows that the new government would not be perfect, but more perfect than the last one.  https://youtu.be/ka3V2SgYD98 I chose this video to represent what the Preamble means to me because I believe that this video encompasses the true meaning of the Preamble. It showcases the fact that the Preamble a...
